The opportunity / About the role
The Emergency Services team supports communities to ensure they are strong, resilient, and capable of anticipating, responding to, and recovering well from disasters and other crises.
Additionally, the role may hold management responsibility for staff working on aligned disaster resilience programs.
What you will bring
- Excellent stakeholder engagement skills and proven ability to drive initiatives at a state level.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
- Ability to facilitate high level meetings, steering groups, and stakeholder groups to achieve outcomes.
- Knowledge of budgetary processes and ability to monitor finances
- Sound knowledge of monitoring and evaluation frameworks
- Ability to set priorities, plan and organise their own work and that of lower classified staff and/or volunteers.
- Demonstrated capability to lead continuous improvement activities and encourage team members to identify ineffective processes and contribute to new ideas and ways of working.
- Sound analytical skills and demonstrated ability to assess, evaluate and solve problems.
- Demonstrated ability to coach and develop individuals and teams.
