**About the Opportunities**
We are excited to announce openings for multiple Incident Notification Officer roles - Clerk Grade 5/6, within our newly established Incident Notification and Emergency Response Unit in the Health Safety and Staff Wellbeing Directorate.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team providing a crucial frontline function supporting schools and workplaces across NSW. As an Incident Notification Officer, you will play a vital role in providing expert advice at point of call to support schools and workplaces in managing and escalating incidents.
**About the role**
The Incident Notification Officer provides high-quality, timely support to enable the accurate and efficient notification of incidents and injuries across NSW schools and workplaces. Working in a fast-paced contact centre environment, the Incident Notification Officer will capture critical information, triage notifications, identify risk areas, and escalate serious incidents in line with operational and departmental policies and procedures.
Key accountabilities include:
- Providing exceptional customer service to accurately record incidents and injuries in accordance with departmental policies.
- Triaging incident notifications, determining appropriate escalation and support actions for serious incidents.
- Capturing accurate and detailed information at the point of contact to enable swift and informed responses.
- Building strong collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders to improve incident and emergency response procedures.
- Developing and maintaining up-to-date knowledge of departmental systems, policies, and relevant legislation.
- Actively participating in reviews of operational procedures and identifying opportunities for continuous improvement in service delivery.

**Essential requirements of the role**
- Working with Children Check for paid employment
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to the value of public education.
- Knowledge of and commitment to implementing the Department’s Aboriginal Education Policy and upholding the Department’s Partnership Agreement with the NSW AECG and to ensure quality outcomes for Aboriginal people.
