**The Role**
This is a unique and challenging role with a CTP-focus. It encompasses both pricing and reserving and requires strong communication, including the ability to discuss technical concepts simply.
Provide key support within the Actuarial team in promoting the understanding of uncertainty associated with the Group’s material risks to Executive and Senior Business leaders across Australia. The role supports the office of the Chief Actuary in modelling and advising on the valuation of insurance liabilities and supports Senior Business leaders in advising on technical pricing.
**Key Responsibilities**
Advise & Build Relationships
- Establish and maintain working relationships within Analytical and Actuarial communities
- Provide pragmatic advice, with appropriate backing of technical knowledge & results, to support business decisions
Technical Analysis & Development
- Complete processes and projects efficiently with limited guidance, recommending and implementing improvements where appropriate
- Challenge analytical methodologies and data processes, recommending and implementing changes where appropriate
- Progress formal training of core technical skills (eg Actuarial exams)
Governance, Monitor & Report
- Develop and adhere to governance process standards
- Be vigilant in the scrutiny of data quality
- Develop and maintain efficient internal / external reporting processes
- Develop and maintain key process / methodology documents and other learning materials
**Skills & Experience**
- Prior practical experience (minimum 3 years) in the analysis of complex data, with a preference to past experience in General Insurance Actuarial roles
- Practical experience with analytical software such as SAS, Excel, SQL, R or Python
- A good communicator and team player
- Reserving and/or Pricing experience will be highly regarded
- Tertiary qualifications in an appropriate technical discipline e.g. Actuarial, Statistics, Mathematics, Data Science, Finance, Engineering
