**The role

The Executive Director, Office of the Director-General, leads the Office in delivering time-sensitive, confidential, and strategically significant initiatives for the Director-General and the Minister for Health and Ambulance Services. This role involves overseeing priority programs, managing critical issues, and fostering collaboration across the Department of Health and the broader Queensland health system.

The Executive Director ensures effective coordination, strategic leadership, and resource management to support public health outcomes and advance the Department's strategic priorities.

The Office of the Director-General and Department of Health is responsible for managing the public health system in Queensland, including: regulating health services; monitoring, developing and deploying programs to improve the health of Queenslanders; coordinating health services through Hospital and Health Services and non-government organisations; providing ambulance services; and working with other state and national agencies on policies and programs to improve the health of Queenslanders.
