**The number of children in care has increased by 50% in the last five years - and it’s estimated to double again in the next five years.**:
**Berry Street’s response to help reduce this statistic is to establish a State Wide function providing carer-focused, responsive, and informative support to potential new and current carers. Together, our Regional Recruitment & Community Engagement Officer will drive initiatives and activities throughout South East Victoria to ensure all children and young people have the support they need to thrive. This includes**:

- Establishing community engagement activities to develop and nurture our local community relationships and partnerships.
- Implementing recruitment strategies alongside our State Wide Recruitment and Retention team.
- Providing carer focussed, warm, responsive and accurate information to prospective foster carers and managing enquiries received through a range of enquiry channels.
- Conducting prospective carer pre-screening conversations and undertaking prompt follow-up with carer enquirers.
- Working collaboratively with our excellent state-wide and regional teams to undertake initial conversations with prospective carers and to assist with processing carer household compliance checks.
- Systems and data focussed, managing foster care enquiries using prescribed IT systems ensures that carer data is always maintained.

**This is a 12-month contract role offering an annual salary range of $77 - 88K plus super and salary packaging options.**
