At Weir Minerals we are looking for a Material Handler to join our growing team. As part of the Operations team, the Material Handler will contribute to the efficient and effective distribution of our components and products by picking and handling materials, controlling inventory, and organising transportation into and out of production.

Responsibilities of the role
- Ensure tools, plant and equipment is safe, clean and fit for purpose prior to using in the execution of tasks.
- Ensure work and storage areas are kept safe, clean and ordered.
- Unload incoming freight and load outgoing freight.
- Pick and place components and products in production in a timely manner to ensure that production activities/jobs do not stop.
- Move completed products/job lots to storage or dispatch areas for transportation to suppliers for further works (e.g. painting) or in readiness for packing and shipping.
- Manager organising transportation for incoming and outgoing goods.
- Maintain job and inventory accuracy when picking, placing and dispatching goods.
- Participate in cycle counting and stocktake and the associated resulting administration from these tasks.
- Use lifting devices such as forklifts and overhead cranes to move loads.
- Complete quality and inspection processes, which may include paper or electronic documentation.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

- Previous working experience in a warehouse, logistics or production environment would be an advantage.
- Forklift licence
- Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
- Experience working with SAP or similar CRM systems (Deseriable)
