**About us**
SafeWork NSW is the state’s workplace health and safety regulator. Our focus is to reduce work related fatalities, serious injuries and illnesses by securing compliance with work health and safety and associated legislation. We do this by undertaking a mix of responsive and proactive programs of work focused on high-risk harms across all industries, aligned to our strategic plan and regulatory priorities.
SafeWork NSW is undergoing an exciting and important period of transformation as we establish the organisation as a modern, strong and standalone Work Health and Safety Regulator. In preparation for these changes, we have an opportunity for an experienced leader within our newly established Wellbeing and Safety team.
**About the role**
The Manager, Wellbeing and Safety will lead the development of strategies aimed at promoting wellbeing and cultivating a safety-driven culture. They will provide expertise and advice to internal stakeholders that will empower a proactive, healthy and safe workplace and culture. This is an opportunity to shape strategic initiatives, foster a culture of best practice and deliver measurable outcomes.
The Manager, Wellbeing and Support will:
- Implement comprehensive action plans and risk management strategies to improve organisational health and psychosocial performance across SafeWork NSW
- Use data and modelling to identify risks, drive remedial actions and develop targeted mitigation programmes to foster an inclusive and safe workplace culture
- Provide quality, culturally sensitive workplace health and safety expertise and advice, assessments, training and lead delivery of guidance and trauma informed support
- Engage and collaborate with organisational leaders and provide strategic insight on safety performance and governance
- Lead and champion team management, work planning, coaching and professional development initiatives to align resources to deliver priorities and a positive employee experience.

**What we are looking for**
- Excellent communication skills and previous experience managing wellbeing and safety projects
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of work health and safety legislation and regulations in New South Wales with a familiarity of international standards
- Extensive experience planning and delivering systems, policies and procedures around wellbeing
- Ability to assess the best approach to providing support and empathy to others
- Well established resilience skills, the ability to manage competing priorities in a timely manner and work collaboratively within a diverse team.
**Essential requirements**
**Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field and/or industry skills and experience are essential.**
