Learn more about our extraordinary teams building inspiring projects in our Impact Report. - **Project Overview**: - Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets. - Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world. - **Job Summary**: - In this role, you will conduct field investigations and special studies for process/chemical design for large projects. You will lead the design, development, modification, and evaluation of components and processes used in process/chemical for projects with unique requirements. Your coordination will ensure that complex technical issues are resolved, clients are satisfied, and project needs are met.- _ "This position is designated as part-time telework per our global telework policy and may require at least three days of in-person attendance per week at the assigned office or project. Weekly in-person schedules will be determined by the individual and their supervisor, in consultation with functional or project leadership"._ - **Major Responsibilities**: - Design and check Process Flow Diagrams (based on Process Engineering input) using MicroStation or equivalent software package. - Design and check P&IDs (based on process engineering and other engineering discipline's input) using SmartPlant P&ID. - Manage process design drawings through their lifecycle of development, issue, comment and backdraft. - Check data on P&IDs for consistency and conformance with project procedures. Assist Project Automation team with export of P&ID data to downstream users. - Collaborates with project automation team for support, issue resolution, developing and implementing data exchanges. - Contribute to team success through good communication, good planning, management of change, and a customer-focused attitude. - Leads and provides direction and guidance to other process designers on the team- ** Education and Experience Requirements**: - Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience- ** Required Knowledge and Skills**: - Experience with Intelligent P&ID design, using SmartPlant P&ID (including system configuration, administration/maintenance of libraries, data exchanges/exports to other design systems) - Familiar with detailed design phase process design in the mining and metals industries, for the full lifecycle of process design drawings - Well-developed skills in teamwork, communication, design coordination, problem solving and client engagement- ** Total Rewards/Benefits**: - For decades, Bechtel has worked to inspire the next generation of employees and beyond Because our teams face some of the world's toughest challenges, we offer robust benefits to ensure our people thrive.
