**About the Role**:
As the Schools Officer, Facilities you will have responsibility for the following:

- Responsible for a range of day to day activities that include maintenance of school ovals through regular mowing; lawn and garden maintenance, including regular weeding and the use of appropriate insecticides and fertilisers where necessary; maintain trees, shrubs, gardens; and undertake general maintenance of grounds care equipment such as mowers, brush cutters and arrange regular services.
- Attend to/or arrange repairs and maintenance within the school, including those which relate to fences, paving and gates; swimming pools (e.g. maintaining proper water quality, testing water, keeping records of tests, adjusting/adding chemicals as consistent with occupational, health and safety (WHS) guidelines and procedures)
- Assist with a range of duties that include clearing and hosing of drains and gutters; collection of waste, food and paper on school grounds; undertaking immediate action cleaning duties (outside the normal operating hours of the school's cleaning staff); assist with requirements for significant events such as fetes, school events and BBQs and major sporting events.
- Responsible for a range of activities that may include delivering and collecting mail; preparing classrooms and assembly halls, including moving/arranging furniture and seating; removing and relocating furniture from room to room; checking, storing and distributing school supplies and stocks; maintaining various registers; and stocktaking and recording/engraving of school equipment/furniture and assets.
- Support a variety of security duties at the school that involve using and maintaining the school security systems; banking of school funds (transport and depositing of funds at the appropriate bank institution); and locking and unlocking buildings (within core hours).
- Ensure compliance with Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) requirements including maintenance of a safe work environment; bring to appropriate attention any safety hazards; safe storage and handling of chemicals, fertilisers and fuels: manage equipment records; and maintain tools and equipment for repair services.
- Must have the skillset to be able to undertake required procedures without intensive supervision.

Must have a current Working with Children Check clearance (Blue Card) and consent to a criminal history check.
This is a OO2 progression position as per the Role Description. The successful applicant will be appointed to the OO2 classification with eligibility for progression to the OO3 level once specific criteria have been met. Please note salary rate shown is reflective of OO2 to OO3 classification range.
