**Who is the National Heavy Vehicle Regulator?**
The National Heavy Vehicle Regulator (NHVR) commenced operations in 2013 as an independent body responsible for
regulating all vehicles in Australia over 4.5 tonnes gross vehicle mass. Located in Brisbane, the NHVR minimises the
compliance burden on the heavy vehicle transport industry, reduces duplication and inconsistencies across state and
territory borders, and ultimately for the heavy vehicle business with government in Australia.

**Environment**
Through leadership and influence, the NHVR administers a national system that delivers consistent and streamlined
regulatory services and administration to the Australian heavy vehicle road transport sector, reducing regulatory burden
whilst enabling greater safety and productivity.

The Corporate services division provides strategic vision and purpose through strategic planning, corporate governance,
performance improvement and the delivery of corporate services.

**Primary Objective**
Support and assist the Manager Procurement & Property in undertaking discrete procurement activities in accordance
with best practice procurement policies and procedures.

**Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities**:

- Source goods and services across a broad range of categories and implement supplier and contractual
- arrangements.- Monitor target milestones, successes and achievements against contract performance criteria.
- Assist in the management and creation, implementation, and dissemination of centralised contract and
- procurement policies.- Provide expert advice, support and assistance with contract and procurement processes to ensure fit for purpose

goods and services are sourced in an efficient and timely manner and in accordance with sound governance
practices.
- Assist to create and rollout out a continuous improvement program in purchasing practices, procurement, and

contract management.
- Assist Manager Procurement & Property to meet NHVR policy, management standards and legislative and

regulatory requirements from a governance, cost, and workplace, health, and safety perspective.
- Manage payments, variations and progress claims, prepare financial cost forecasts and monitor cash flow against

contracts as required.
- Provide support and assistance for purchase order requisitions and goods receipt processes.
- Drive effective relationships with internal and external stakeholders, suppliers, and partners.
- Comply with WH&S policies and procedures and contribute and promote a safe and health work environment.

**Skills and Capabilities**:

- Mature and effective interpersonal skills with the ability to develop relationships with suppliers, stakeholders and
- management.- A strong commitment to great customer service, organisational culture, values and a cohesive team environment.
- Ability to positively influence and negotiate with stakeholders and achieve business outcomes and cost savings
- through advanced vendor and supplier management techniques.- Highly developed and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong analytical thinking including the ability to resolve problems and carry out the identification and prioritisation
- of risk.- Experience in maintaining client confidence and protecting the professional integrity of the NHVR.

**Qualifications and Experience**
**Essential to the Role**:

- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in senior or specialist procurement and contract management roles.
