**The Role**
Reporting to the Business Systems Manager, the Business Systems Specialist has a focus on Work Health Safety Environment and Security (WHSES) systems, accountabilities and functions will include the development, implementation and ongoing management of WHSES business systems for Southern Ports Authority (SPA), including project planning for WHSES business systems, upgrades of existing systems and implementing change management to ensure user maximum user uptake.

All business activities of the Business Systems Specialist are in line with Southern Ports’ mission, vision and corporate values.

**Key responsibilities include***:

- Manage the development, testing, maintenance, and implementation of systems support for WHSES business systems
- Project planning for new business systems, upgrades of existing systems and implementing change management to ensure user maximum user uptake
- Liaise with key stakeholders to define business requirements, performance expectations and service levels for specific line of business systems
- Provide customised reporting services for business divisions, as required
- Provide advice on future directions and capabilities of business systems supporting automation, mobility, information management, business intelligence and integrated reporting

**Experience and skills**
- Tertiary qualifications in computer science or related field
- Proven experience in managing service providers and vendor agreements
- Demonstrated experience in designing, implementing, monitoring and reporting on WHSES initiatives
- Strong ability to effectively work with multiple stakeholders and influence at different levels of an organisation to improve safety culture and performance
- Proven experience in system analysis, design, implementation and documentation
- Project management experience of complex information systems
- Experience in business process re-engineering
- Experience managing information systems within the ports or logistics industries
