We also manage some of Australia’s most significant infrastructure projects which affect the wider community, including regulating airports, the development of the Western Sydney (Nancy-Bird Walton) Airport and the delivery of Melbourne to Brisbane Inland Rail.
Enabling us to achieve our objectives is a strong corporate team who provide a range of strategic legal, ICT, human resources, procurement, risk, communications and governance services to the Department.
**A little bit about us**:
The Financial Governance Team in Financial Management Branch work closely with internal and external stakeholders in delivering a wide range of deliverables related to the department’s financial governance framework and, financial literacy uplift. The team provide professional high-quality financial governance advice to the Executive and the Department’s business divisions to enable them to deliver their respective projects, programs and activities in line with the Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs), _Public Governance, Performance and Accountability (PGPA) Act 2013._

**What will you do?**:
Financial Governance Team
You will have the opportunity to work with a variety of stakeholders across the Department to drive excellence in financial governance and may include the following activities:
- Developing, implementing and maintaining financial governance policies and procedures, including: Accountable Authority Instructions (AAI’s), financial delegations, gifts and benefits, official hospitality;
- Provide stakeholders advice on the departments Financial Governance Framework, including the PGPA Act, Accountable Authority Instructions, financial delegations, and financial non-compliances, and other relevant policies as required;
- Leading the department’s financial literacy program including the development and delivery of training.
- Driving the department’s financial assurance program and subsequent reporting obligations, including: Management Assurance Certificate, finance law non-compliances, Integrity Dashboard, indemnities register, quarterly gifts and benefits reporting, and Lands Acquisition Act delegations register;
- Preparation of high-level briefs for Senate Estimates, Questions on Notice’s, Executive Board and Audit and Risk Committee.
