At Blinq, real-world connections are everything—and behind every seamless interaction is infrastructure that just works. We're looking for a Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) Manager to lead the reliability and performance of the systems that power our product.

In this role, you’ll own the stability, observability, and scalability of our platform, guiding a growing team of engineers who keep our systems fast, secure, and resilient. You’ll play a key part in evolving our cloud architecture, shaping our incident response processes, and enabling product teams to move quickly without compromising reliability.

This isn’t a pure ops role—it’s engineering-led, automation-first, and focused on empowering developers. You’ll balance big-picture strategy with hands-on technical work, building the systems and culture that scale with us as we grow

**This is a**hybrid role** based in**Melbourne or Sydney**.**

**What You'll Do**:

- ** Lead and grow Blinq’s SRE function**:Build and mentor a team of SREs responsible for system reliability, uptime, and performance. Define team priorities, run rituals, and create a strong engineering culture
- ** Own platform stability and observability**: Ensure our services are monitored, alerting is actionable, and issues are surfaced before they become outages. You’ll own incident management, postmortems, and continuous improvement
- ** Scale our infrastructure with confidence**: Guide the evolution of our cloud architecture (we’re on GCP) to meet growing traffic and product complexity. Partner with backend engineers to optimize performance and deploy systems that scale
- ** Embed reliability into the development lifecycle**: Work closely with product and platform teams to shift reliability left—making resilience a first-class part of the build process, not just a post-launch fix
- ** Drive automation and tooling**: Identify toil and eliminate it. Champion infrastructure-as-code, CI/CD maturity, and internal tools that enable faster, safer deploys and easier rollback

**What You'll Bring**:

- ** Proven leadership in SRE or DevOps**: 10+ years in a hands-on SRE or infrastructure role, plus 3+ years experience managing and mentoring engineering teams in high-growth environments
- ** Deep infrastructure knowledge**:Strong experience with cloud platforms (GCP preferred but not required), serverless environments particularly edge workers, and infrastructure as code (e.g. Terraform, Pulumi)
- ** Incident management mindset**:Calm under pressure with a structured approach to debugging, root cause analysis, and postmortem culture. You don’t just fix issues—you prevent them from happening again
- ** Strong automation instincts**: Passion for building tools and workflows that eliminate repetitive tasks and empower engineers to ship faster and safer
