**Position Information**:
Elderslie Public School (student enrolment 570) is a school situated in South Western Sydney. The school currently has 22 mainstream classes, 3 support classes for students with Autism and 1 support class for students with Emotional Disturbances.
At Elderslie Public School, our vision is to create an innovative, inspiring and inclusive community. We aim to empower our students through student agency and ensure they feel valued in a safe environment that celebrates cultural identity. A child's wellbeing in at the centre of all decisions, with each student's welfare being everyone's responsibility. Our success is achieved by strong literacy and numeracy and specialised support programs. **Selection Criteria**:
In addition to the general selection criteria, approval to teach infants and/or primary with a demonstrated capacity as an exemplary teacher, with the skills and knowledge to manage the dual role of classroom teacher and assistant principal.
Demonstrated ability to lead teams in data driven practices that improve student outcomes in Literacy and Numeracy.
Demonstrated excellence in building strong relationships with students, staff and the school community to wholistically enhance the wellbeing outcomes for all students.
The ability to mentor/coach staff in current pedagogies within aboriginal education, and recognise and understand the complexities for our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students.
**General Selection Criteria**:
1. Successful teaching experience with capacity to initiate improvement in teaching, learning and classroom practice
- 2. Knowledge of curriculum, assessment and student welfare with the ability to lead and design quality, inclusive teaching and learning programs- 3. Educational leadership skills to build the capacity and manage the performance of individuals and teams- 4. Well developed communication and interpersonal skills with the capacity to build relationships and engage students, staff and parents- 5. Ability to plan and manage resources effectively and equitably to support teaching and learning- 6. Knowledge of and commitment to the Department's Aboriginal education policies**Conditions**:
