**38 hour week with a 9 day fortnight**

**Weekly wage from $993.31 - $1152.16 (depending on skills and experience). Plus 10.5% superannuation**

**The Opportunity**

We are seeking Operation Crew Members/General Laboureres to join our team at Council. We currently have multiple positions available across our Shire Presentation division on a permanent full time (38hr/week) basis.

The roles range from **construction, roads maintenance, gardening and other general labour**. The position will require a variety of manual labour tasks such as shovelling, use of plant machinery, landscaping, gardening, contributing to a safe working environment and more.

Located in the beautiful Southern Highlands of NSW, 1.5 hours south-west of Sydney - Wingecarribee Shire Council is working to create and** **nurture a vibrant & diverse community in harmony with the region's urban, agricultural and natural environments.

**About the role**:

- Undertaking a range of routine manual labouring tasks required for the maintenance of Councils Roads, Open Spaces and CBD areas to agreed operational service level to meet customer demands and minimise public risk.
- Operation of small to medium plant including use of the trucks, tractors, equipment and other designated machinery involved in all aspects of routine maintenance in all areas of the incumbents responsibility. 3. Carry out gardening and other general labouring duties such as shovelling and landscaping.
- Operate and carry our daily maintenance checks on plant items, equipment and Council infrastructure.
- Actively contribute to the team environment including; toolbox and safety meetings. development of safe systems of work, participate in ongoing performance appraisals with the relevant Team Leader and raise issues and questions were deemed appropriate.
- Participate in all mandatory and identified training and development activities within agreed time frames.
- Utilise Councils systems of work to ensure safety, quality and environmental protection responsibilities are carried out.
- Communicate in a timely and polite manner to customers.
- Proactive approach to problem solving and flexible nature to change work direction for an operational advantage.

**Selection Criteria**
- Demonstrated experience in manual labouring roles and/or operating small to medium plant and machinery across a variety of projects in construction and maintenance.
- Required to undertake immunisation of Hepatitis and Tetanus.
- Current NSW Driver’s Licence - Willingness to obtain Medium Rigid (MR) within 6 months.

**Desirable**
- Safe Handling of Sharps and ChemCert AQF III.
