**Job description**

We are looking for experienced, reliable and empathetic Support Workers who want to make a difference by supporting our participants in achieving their goals and living their best life.

We Empower is looking for support workers in the Western suburbs of Melbourne and surrounding areas.

**The role may involve**:

- Assistance with community access and recreational activities
- Personal care (showering, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance)
- Manual handling and/or the use of equipment to support mobility (wheelchairs or hoists)
- Transportation and supporting social engagement
- Light domestic duties such as meal preparation and cleaning
- Professional or lived experience supporting someone with a disability
- Experience supporting people with Mental Health and Complex Behaviours
- Experience using a Hoist, PEG Feeding, or with Epilepsy Management
- Flexible availability & a long-term commitment to We Empower

**Essential criteria**:

- An understanding of the disability/community services sector and person-centred support
- Transferable life/work skills along with a caring and compassionate approach
- A valid driver's license and a reliable vehicle
- NDIS Worker Screening Check
- The legal right to work in Australia
- Excellent communication skills
- A genuine interest in the wellbeing & inclusion of people with disabilities

**Job Types**: Full-time, Part-time, Casual
Part-time hours: 10-30 per week

**Salary**: $32.50 - $45.60 per hour

Licence/Certification:

- Working with Children Check (preferred)
- Australian driver's licence (preferred)
- First Aid (preferred)
- Australian National Police Check (preferred)
