About the Role

Service Stream is currently seeking a National Town Planning Manager (SME) to join our team. In this role you will ensure ongoing best practice of Town Planning services in the deployment of telecommunication facilities. As the Subject Matter Expert, you will be responsible for providing technical and operational expertise to the Wireless business.

You will work closely with all our project teams and alongside our customers to support the implementation of robust systems and processes. The duties include, overseeing the compliance with all Federal, State and Local legislation, recruitment and training. Note that this role will work across all projects nationally.

Nature of position: Permanent, Full Time

Location: Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide

This role is responsible for:
Project Performance
- Develop and implement business rules and procedures across all projects
- Develop and implement process improvements.
- Review and provide efficiencies across all client processes
- Oversee individual performance and provide reporting to Project Directors and the General Manager on staff effectiveness and utilisation
- Investigate issues and provide root cause assessment and remedial actions
- Interface with clients and reinforce the depth of our capabilities
- Provide guidance and direction in dealing with complex discipline specific issues
- Ensure compliance with registration / licensing requirements
- Review Customer Guidelines and bulletin releases, providing time and cost impacts where applicable.
- Assist project teams in the establishment and placement of resources for new project requirements
- Work with bid teams on new project opportunities.

People
- Prime responsible for recruitment of new employees, balancing resource needs across the business.
- Work on continual development/improvement of the greater wireless team.
- Provide training to the wireless team and sub-contractors via workshops, bulletins and formal education
- Assist in performance management of employees
- Participate in individual team member PDR for the planning team
- Provide resource recommendations to project directors, based on forecast work volumes provided by the PD.

About You:
To be successful in this role, you would have a minimum of 5 years’ experience in a Senior Town Planning role and hold tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or a related discipline.

You will also demonstrate and possess the following:

- Extensive experience in development assessment of telecommunication facilities.
- Excellent knowledge of environmental planning and assessment against legislation nationally and the Telecommunications Act 1997.
- High level attention to detail, analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to inspire, support innovation, automation, and continuous improvement.
- Experience in mentoring, training of graduates and other less experienced staff.
- Exemplary interpersonal skills, communication, and stakeholder management.
