**About the role**:
As the Infrastructure Planning and Design Lead, you will lead a Capital Works Planning team to manage completion of detailed assessments of a wide range of engineering projects to identify, analyse and resolve critical project issues. You and your team will be responsible for the detailed planning and design management for new water and sewerage network infrastructure through delivery of reliable business cases and design documentation that enables the capital works programs to be developed and delivered. Additionally, you will recommend design or process changes for improvement and take a lead role in the review of consultant prepared design documentation. You will engage with external suppliers and stakeholders to facilitate successful delivery of projects and manage risks to Unitywater. This is a rewarding role that will allow you to use both your leadership and technical experience and is a great opportunity to be involved in major infrastructure projects in the region.
**About you**:
To contribute to Unitywater’s values of **Reliability**, **Safety**, **Honesty** **& Integrity**, **Efficiency**, **One Team**, **Innovation**, you will demonstrate the following skills and qualities for the role:
- Tertiary engineering qualifications coupled with water industry experience and the ability to manage and deliver multiple projects, ideally within a large utility or similar large customer focussed environment.
- Hold or be working towards registration as a Professional Engineer of QLD (RPEQ).
- Demonstrated leadership experience and strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- Strong technical capability including water and/or sewerage network planning, hydraulic modelling, concept and detailed design, cost estimation and report writing.
- Demonstrated understanding of typical constraints, approvals and risks associated with the planning, design, construction and operation of water and sewerage infrastructure in an urban environment.
- High level of analytical, investigative and research skills, combined with strong time management skills.
