**Job Description**:
We are seeking an experienced Program Manager to lead and manage our successful Climate Ready Initiative (CRI) and its team. CRI is a partnership-based social impact initiative that seeks to enable climate action by unlocking the economic and social development pathways that value net-zero emissions and climate resilience. CRI is an interdisciplinary, practice based initiative that sits within Griffith Business School and is the practice and engagement platform for Griffith's Climate Action Beacon (CAB). The mission of CAB is to develop the knowledge, leadership, capacity and responses to enable effective and just climate action throughout society by development of collaborative, interdisciplinary research and partnerships that establish change in practice and catalysts for climate action.
The focus of this role is to provide strategic leadership and operational management support for CRI, its team, and its projects - including our flagship national Climate Ready Australia 2030 project. The role will maintain and advance strategic platforms and partnerships for industry engagement and partnership on climate action, develop and deliver practice-based climate action projects and investments, and develop Griffith’s capacity in climate action practice, drawing upon the expertise of CAB's university-wide network of researchers.
In addition to providing oversight and support for existing activities and events, the position will be responsible for identifying, scoping, and developing new project opportunities. Where necessary, the position will also be required to provide technical leadership and advice on climate action within other internal and external projects.
**This is a fixed term (2 year), full time position and is primarily based at the Griffith University Nathan campus. As Griffith is a multi-campus University you may be required to work across other campus locations.**
The full time equivalent base salary will be HEW Level 10 $132,070 per annum + 17% superannuation. The total FTE package will be $154,521 per annum.
**Qualifications**:
To be successful within this role, you will have extensive experience working in climate change, on both mitigation and adaptation projects. You will have experience working with government, industry, and other partners to identify and co-create opportunities to advance climate action. In addition to this, you will be able to demonstrate leading and managing project teams in the successful delivery of project outcomes and a genuine passion for advancing climate action.
In addition, it is desirable you have experience in contributing to government policy and strategy, institutional change and strengthening, and some experience of the Higher Education environment.
