What is the role?

Applications are sought from suitably qualified applicants wishing to be considered for the role of Finance Business Partner.

The Finance Branch is responsible for the provision of efficient, effective and compliant financial management and advice across the AFP. The branch has a number of current and anticipated vacancies available at the band 5 level.

Members will be required to work effectively in small teams under the direction of Team Leaders.

You will also be required to contribute to the achievement of outcomes in accordance with the regulatory framework, the AFP Code of Conduct and the AFP Governance Instruments. It is expected that the successful applicant will deliver on the core responsibilities and meet any requirements of the position as outlined below.

What will you do?

Finance Business Partners (Management Accountants) support business units of the AFP to manage their budget and finances effectively through timely and accurate advice and analysis. Core duties include regular analysis and presentation of financial information to support business area decision making. Management accountants also assist with the development, implementation and management of internal budgets.

Financial Investment Planning & Assets Team Member (Financial Accountants) ensure the integrity of the AFP's financial information in SAP and SAS, and compliance with statutory reporting requirements. Core duties include being responsible for the identification, recording, valuation, accounting, reporting and timely capitalization of the AFP's capital projects, the reconciliation and reporting of capital work in progress and to carry out revaluation and stocktake activities.
Essential Requirements

You must be an Australian Citizen;
A Negative Vetting 1 (Secret) security clearance or the ability to obtain one; and
Relevant tertiary qualification or extensive experience and knowledge in area of expertise.
Desirable Requirements

Existing or working towards relevant professional qualifications (CA/CPA) would be highly regarded but not essential.

This position has been advertised in multiple locations however, the role is located in Canberra, ACT. Successful applicants must be willing to relocate.
