We are looking to for a program facilitator (coach) to assist with the running of our programs. At present the majority of our clients consist of school aged children and adults who use our group riding lessons for enjoyment and therapy.

RDA (NSW) Wagga offers group lessons Monday to Saturday with a maximum of 6 riders per group. Our lessons predominately take place in our two custom build arenas, one of which is an enclosed indoor arena, however as they advance, riders venture further into our paddocks for trail rides as well as onto our purpose-built obstacle course. We also offer school holiday riding programs, both for riders with their own horses, and those wishing to learn on ours.

Carriage driving takes place through the property, with drivers provided the opportunity to learn to move the horse through various paces and around various obstacles.

As a registered charity, our ‘workforce’ consists predominantly of volunteers, who give their time to provide valuable equine related experiences to our clients, however this is a paid, part time position (there may be potential for full time work in the future) for someone looking to contribute to our coaching team.

All applicants must be at least 18 years of age, have a driver’s licence and own transport and be able to work a regular day on a Saturday. Applicants with equestrian coaching experience will be considered favourably, however training will be provided for the right applicant. Unless the successful applicant already holds them, RDA(NSW) coaching qualifications, including a current first aid certificate, will be required to be achieved within a mutually agreed period after employment. Applicants must have a current working with children check, equine handling experience and be confident riders able to exercise and trial new horses to determine their suitability for our riders.
- Through quality service, provide all riders with the riding experience they are looking for, without mishap, in an environment which is clean, professional, safe and fun.
- Provide riding instruction to riders of all ages and abilities in both a private and/or group lesson situation.
- Understand individual clients needs and create challenging, stimulating and fun lessons.
- Provide novice riders with an individual training plan which may for instance include grooming, saddling, ground control, walking, trotting and cantering in harmony with the horse.
- Make all our clients and volunteers feel valued.
- Ensure any accidents and incidents are appropriately attended to and reported.
- Promote RDA(NSW) and encourage repeat business through a personal, friendly response to customers.
- Organise and operate adult and junior riding camps and clinics as required.
- Assist with coordinating fundraising events.
- Safe, enjoyable riding is our number one priority. As such RDA(NSW) Wagga requires you to maintain a high level of safety and care for horses, clients and staff.
