**Join our growing Defence and National Security team**

We have a dedicated Defence & National Security (D&NS) team that provide a variety of services to our Defence clients that currently include the Royal Australian Navy (RAN), Capability Acquisition and Sustainment Group (CASG), Security and Estate Group (SEG) and Joint Capabilities Group. Our team of specialists partner with our clients to implement sustainable, pragmatic and tangible solutions to complex problems.

**The Role**

This is a newly created Canberra-based role, working with the D&NS team, responsible for the continued growth of Beca in Canberra and provision of required services and capabilities to the Australian Defence Organisation (ADO) and potentially other Government Organisations.

As the Defence Program Manager - Canberra, you will be responsible for the identification of engagement opportunities in Canberra and develop responses to those opportunities, potentially including their initial delivery. Supported by the broader D&NS Leadership Team and existing internal corporate services, you will also be responsible for the identification of resource requirements to service these opportunities, increasing the size of our existing team located in Canberra. You will be expected to build our engagement portfolio, with an initial focus on existing Clients where we are engaged through the DSS Panel and our MSP Partnership with Jacobs.

As a member of our D&NS Leadership Team, you will play an active role in the evolution of our D&NS Market and Business Line Strategy. There may also be an opportunity for you to further expand your role and take a broader role in the delivery of Beca’s Services in the ACT.

**What we’ll like about you**

We are seeking an experienced Program Manager with proven Business Development skills, and experience in the identification and development of people to execute the identified opportunities.

You will be well connected within the Canberra Defence community and a background in the Defence sector and/or in working with Defence industry is highly preferred to facilitate a sound understanding of client requirements.

To be successful in the role, you will need to possess the skills, knowledge and experience to meet the following requirements.
- The ability to grow awareness of the Beca Defence and broader Capabilities, engaging with both new and existing clients to help grow and evolve work opportunities based on the D&NS Market Strategy and its objectives;
- Be self-motivated and driven, possessing the ability to work effectively within a team and within a matrix organisation;
- Excellent communicator - ability to effectively manage client and stakeholder engagement and liaise with the wider Beca D&NS team to communicate client needs;
- Manage project delivery responsibilities as required either as part of a project team or leading a project team;
- Actively support the D&NS operations team with workforce planning.

Given the nature of the role, our client industry and projects, it is mandatory that you hold (or will be able to obtain) a current Australian Government Security Vetting Agency (AGSVA) security clearance at Baseline level or higher.
