Opportunity for Senior Commercial Manager to join flagship Maritime Project.

Join a high-profile maritime defence program at the forefront of Australia's national security initiatives. My client is seeking an experienced Senior Commercial Manager to lead complex contract negotiations, manage supplier performance, and ensure commercial success across a strategically vital project. This is a contracting opportunity, work from home flexibility and working with an amazing team of like-minded individuals. Defence experience is essential for this position, as well as the ability to work above the line, with existing defence clearance.

Your new role

  • Lead end-to-end contract management for major defence maritime systems and services.
  • Negotiate, draft, and manage high-value contracts in compliance with Commonwealth Procurement Rules (CPRs) and ASDEFCON.
  • Collaborate with legal, procurement, engineering, and project teams to ensure contractual alignment with project goals.
  • Monitor supplier performance, manage contract variations, and mitigate commercial risks.
  • Provide strategic advice to senior stakeholders on contractual matters and commercial frameworks.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in contract management within the defence, maritime, or complex infrastructure sectors.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian Government contracting frameworks (e.g., ASDEFCON).
  • Exceptional negotiation, stakeholder engagement, and risk management skills.
  • Relevant tertiary qualifications in Law, Business, Commerce, or a related field.
  • Existing NV1 Clearance
