**Key Responsibilities include**:
- Assign accurate morbidity and procedural codes to episodes of care, through abstraction of relevant information from the patient record and ensuring appropriate and optimal allocation of AR-DRGs.
- Review DRG allocation in conjunction with associated information such as length of stay, specialty and care type.
- Utilise appropriate resources and liaise with team members and clinicians to clarify information as required including correcting incomplete or inaccurate information. Identify and take action through appropriate channels to rectify discrepancies between clinical information systems.
- Perform regular coding quality audits including targeted ABF, DRG, ACHS data validation, documentation or ad-hoc audits, EVAs and PICQ as required and directed by the SCHHS Manager of Clinical Coding Services.
