**About the Role**

As an Instrument Technician, you will be responsible for:

- Collecting, cleaning, and decontaminating reusable critical and semi-critical medical equipment used in the operating suite and clinical units.
- Loading and unloading ultrasonic equipment, instrument washers, dryers, and sterilizers according to established instructions and general duties lists.
- Packaging instruments as per manufacturer’s instructions and department policies.
- Preparing, checking, and packaging instruments, including loan sets for sterilisation.
- Rotating through all areas of the CSSD with a high degree of autonomy and accountability while adhering to established guidelines and procedures.

**About you**
- A Certificate IV in Sterilisation Services for technicians or equivalent from a registered training organisation.
- A minimum of 12 months experience as an Instrument Technician.
- The ability to work autonomously while managing complex tasks across all CSSD areas.
- Proficiency in decontamination processes, packing, wrap, steri peel, low-temperature sterilization, steam sterilization, and sterile store level 5 procedures.
- Familiarity with specialty equipment within the hospital setting.
- A willingness to undertake additional tasks as directed by the CSSD Nurse Unit Manager.
- Strong attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high standards of sterilisation and infection control.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills to collaborate effectively with other healthcare professionals.
