
Safe Relationships Coordinator and Practitioner

About the role:
The primary objective for this role, where it is possible and safe to do so, is to engage with young people between the ages of 10 to 17 years and their families and/or caregivers, to increase safety, reduce violence, strengthen familial relationships and ensure the family/caregiver/s has access to appropriate resources.
This is a Full-Time, Fixed Term, 38 hours per week - 1 EFT until 30/09/2025 opportunity based in Footscray VIC within our Clinical Services Program. The position reports to the Principal Practitioner.
Key Selection Criteria:
To be successful in this role, you will have:
- Appropriate tertiary qualification in Psychology, Social Work or a related discipline is essential. Post Graduate training in relevant child, adolescent and family clinical practice, family work and systemic thinking is strongly preferred.
- Demonstrated practice knowledge and experience in working with family violence and the impact of family violence on family members.
- Demonstrated experience in counselling and the development of individual and family therapeutic assessments and plans to support appropriate and safe relationships.
- Demonstrated expertise in utilising creative therapeutic approaches to respond to the needs of children, young people and families.
- Evidence of a well-developed understanding of attachment and trauma theories, child and adolescent development, and approaches for working with young people who are neurodivergent.
- Proven leadership skills and demonstrated ability in the supervision of staff.
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in utilsing culturally safe and informed practices with both Aboriginal and mutilcultural adolescents, families and/or children.
