Underground Geologist

A great opportunity to work in an expanding underground mine with a supportive mining company and long term focus. **The Company** Regis Resources was originally incorporated in 1986 as Johnson's Well Mining and held that name until a restructure in 2004 when they were rebranded as Regis Resources. Since then, the company has gone from strength to strength acquiring tenements in NSW and WA, running successful mines with solid yield. The Duketon project in WA has been in continuous production since 2009 with 3 operations based at: Moolart Well, Rosemont and Garden Well including 2 underground mines and surrounding satellite pits. The expansion into a new underground operation has led to the need to ramp up recruitment and presents the opportunity for new team members to make their mark on how the operation runs. Regis are a supportive and organised entity that put a strong emphasis on staff care and development. **The Role** This is an 8/6 FIFO roster from Perth to Duketon. Multiple Underground Project Geologist positions are available, from mid-level through to Senior roles available. The following are duties the Underground Project Geologist can be expected to undertake or assist with: - Develop grade control procedures - Generate, design and implement grade control drilling programs - Develop and implement extension and exploration programs underground - Core logging and improve core data systems - Develop, maintain, and improve geological interpretations of the ore system - Generate, develop and maintain grade control databases and block models - Supervise mine and junior geologists and field technicians in data collection, collation, analysis and interpretation - Mentor mine geologists and field technicians as required - Report geological activities to the Senior Mine Geologist and Geology Superintendent - Compile end of month reports, key statistics and reconciliation data - Develop geological related projects to improve life of mine, reduce cost per ounce, and improve the Geological understanding of the ore system - Budgets and forecasts relating to geological commitments - Mine forecasting and scheduling process - Develop and undertake QAQC tracking, documentation, and lab audits - Fulfil Senior Mine Geologist's duties in their absence as required **Skills & Experience** - Degree in geology (or relevant field) - Demonstrated leadership and experience within an underground mine environment - Strong report writer - Understanding of Surpac and Leapfrog - Undertaken grade control drill planning, modelling and estimation - Maintains sound judgment with a solid work ethic and emphasis on safety In addition, those with the following experience would be considered for a senior role: - Significant experience in an Underground Project role managing a large team - Coached and mentored in some capacity - If managing a smaller team, acting in a senior role would be desirable - Experience authoring Underground Project engineering documents (management plans, scopes of work, tenders, progress reporting, etc.) **Benefits** - Competitive salary (+ incentives) - New onsite facilities - An exciting opportunity for training and growth in the industry **To Apply** **Who are we** At PERSOLKELLY, our passion is - and always has been - putting you first.
