**OVERVIEW**:
Seeking a motivated and experienced Line 1 Risk and Controls Manager within the Financial Services industry.

In this role, you will play a fundamental role in implementing independent reviews to evaluate the effectiveness of key business controls.

This includes increasing risk and compliance awareness, evaluating existing controls, detailing newly identified controls, and safeguarding the appropriate completion of action plans.

**ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Utilise your knowledge of Audit/Assurance practices to gain a comprehensive understanding of key controls.
- Conduct assurance testing in alignment with the risk management framework and testing methodology to identify control weaknesses.
- Work alongside risk colleagues to continuously improve the control testing methodology.
- Deliver assigned reviews from the annual assurance plan, with particular focus on controls associated with high and medium risks to ensure the adequacy and effectiveness of the control environment.
- Record findings and deliver assurance opinions.
- Assemble and combine materials for management and committee meetings.
- Support in producing reports for the Board and regulatory bodies.

**IDEAL SKILLS**:

- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field such as Risk Management, Audit, Compliance, or a related discipline.
- Strong knowledge of audit and assurance principles, practices, and methodologies.
- Demonstrated experience in conducting risk assessments and assurance testing.
- Familiarity with operational risk management frameworks and policies.
- Excellent analytical skills, with the ability to identify control weaknesses and develop actionable plans for improvement.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, enabling you to collaborate with diverse stakeholders and present information clearly.
- Ability to maintain a high level of attention to detail in a fast-paced environment.
- Professional certifications such as Certified Internal Auditor (CIA) or Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) are desirable but not essential.
