About the Role
Support access to cardiac services for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples / communities through providing culturally appropriate education, case management, quality improvement, direct assistance and participation in community consultation mechanisms.
- Assist with development of culturally appropriate education materials for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander patients, families and/or carers.
- Liaison with relevant Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander Community Groups and Organisations to improve patient flow, continuity of care and links between services.
- Network and liaise between Aboriginal & Torres Strait Islander patients and their families, community groups and organisations to increase their capacity to be more involved in their own health care.
Under s25 of the Anti-Discrimination Act 1991 (Qld), there is a genuine occupational requirement for the incumbent to be Indigenous to the Aboriginal or Torres Strait Islander Community.
