Alacrity Health is a grass-roots mental health organisation that does supports differently. Transparency and sustainability are at our core - Environmentally sustainable supports, clear communication, giving back to the community through tree-planting programs and sponsoring local community, and more. Alacrity Health was formed by someone with lived experience who has worked in the peer work sector for years. Therefore, Alacrity Health is run not just for the profit, but for the community and with personal experience on what works. We want to support workers to grow within our organisation, professionally and personally.
**Job description**
Please note that this position is currently casual. However, those looking for more stability in part-time and full-time positions have the opportunity to grow into this in the future. Please talk to us about this
This position forms part of our Support Work team that specialise in supporting people with psychosocial disability. This role is slightly different, however, in that this role involves disability/personal care as part of the role.
**Please note this is a mental health specific role. Individuals with a background in personal care/disability specific support will not be successful in applying.**
The Mental Health Support Worker position focuses on assisting participants to meet the goals within their individualised NDIS plan. The NDIS aims to provide people with choice and control over how, when and where those supports are provided. Providing outreach support to NDIS participants will be your main duty, however additional duties, should you be interested, may involve attending Alacrity Health day trips, retreats, and other fun activities.
Our community support team (CSW) provides 1:1 or group assistance, utilising their experience to give trauma-informed care to our participants with mental ill health. This is done flexibly and in consultation with family/friends and the wider care team.
Our peer work team (PSW) provides support work to the community, utilising their lived experience above all else to provide trauma-informed care. As a PSW, you provide mental health support like a community support worker, however with your lived experience at the core of your expertise.
