Furthermore, AGS has a reputation of undertaking every task upholding strict principals and standards whilst perusing flexible outcomes for our clients.

AGS is now looking for an experienced full-time **Geotechnical Laboratory Technician** to join our team.

**Responsibilities & Tasks will include**:

- Complete projects by preparing sketches and documents and confirm specifications.
- Prepare reports by collecting and studying design, maps, drawings, blueprints, photographs, and tests on soil composition, terrain, hydrological characteristics, and related topographical and geologic data.
- Prepare charts, tabulations, plans and designs for our projects.
- Carrying out safety inspections and preparing safety procedures such as Safe Work Method Statements.
- Determine project costs by calculating labour, material, and related costs.
- Supervision of Testing Department Estimating quantities of materials and budgeting as well as tendering when needed.
- Create feasibility study by analyzing the design, conducting environmental impact studies, and assembling data.
- Ensure the department is operating in accordance with AGS MS Policies and procedures.
- Perform soil testing laboratory duties (compaction, CBR testing, Atterberg Limits).
- Be primarily responsible for all outgoing laboratory test data/reports.
- Process control sampling and laboratory testing.
- Conduct laboratory tests and field of construction materials and soils and collecting data for traffic surveys.
- Assist with preparing samples for processing.
- Confirm adherence to specifications and safety standards by monitoring project progress, inspecting site, and verifying calculations and placements.
- Fulfill project requirements by training and guiding operators.
- Maintain operations by enforcing project and operational policies and procedures.
- Comply with federal, state, and local legal requirements by studying existing and new legislation; anticipating future legislation; enforcing adherence to requirements; and advising management on needed actions.

**Skills and Qualification**:

- Bachelor’s degree in a related field
- A minimum of 2 years industry experience
- Proficient skills in Microsoft Office Software, Adobe Acrobat Professional, and Internet functions.
- Good data entry skills with eye for detail
- Ability to quickly adapt to changes in the work environment
- Excellent verbal communication skills
