Gatton, Australia Colonial Cafe & Functions Full time

Colonial Cafe are on the lookout for some new hospitality superstars to join their team.

Multiple positions available, all for casual positions.

This position will entail the following tasks:
Customer Service:

- Greet customers warmly and provide a welcoming atmosphere.
- Take customer orders accurately and efficiently.
- Serve food and beverages to customers in a timely manner.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve complaints in a professional manner.

Food and Beverage Preparation:

- Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages, including coffee, tea, and light snacks.
- Ensure food is presented attractively and meets the cafe's quality standards.
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene standards in food preparation areas.

Event Setup and Coordination:

- Assist with the setup and breakdown of events, including arranging tables, chairs and decorations.
- Serve food and beverages during events, ensuring smooth and efficient service.

Cleaning and Maintenance:

- Keep the cafe and function rooms clean and organised, including sweeping, mopping, and wiping down surfaces.
- Wash and sanitise dishes, utensils, and kitchen equipment
- Ensure restrooms and other public areas are clean and stocked with necessary supplies (this will only be required some times)

Cash Handling and Reporting:

- Operate the cash register and handle transactions accurately.
- Handle cash, credit cards and other forms of payment securely.

Stock Management:

- Monitor inventory levels and notify management of restock supplies needed.
- Assist with receiving deliveries and storing products properly
- Report any stock shortages or equipment issues to the manager.

Health and Safety:

- Follow all health and safety regulations, including proper food handling procedures.
- Report any hazards, accidents, or injuries to the manager immediately.
- Participate in any required training or safety drills

**Qualifications**:

- Previous experience in a cafe, restaurant, or event setting is preferred but not required.
- Strong customer service skills and the ability to work well under pressure.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including some evenings and weekends.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work as part of a team and take initiative when needed.
- Basic math skills for handling cash and making transactions.
- A positive attitude and a willingness to learn.

**Working Conditions**:

- Fast-paced environment with a focus on customer satisfaction
- Ability to stand for long periods and perform physically demanding tasks.
- May require lifting and carrying heavy items (up to 20kg).

- Hospitality: 2 years (required)

Pay: $23.26 - $40.06 per hour

Expected hours: 2 - 38 per week
