Principal Program Officer

Develop, implement, manage and evaluate grants programs/projects aimed at improving outcomes for young people who are at risk of, or are already involved in, youth justice and increasing community safety. Provide advice to support strong grants management governance including data analysis, systems thinking and risk minimisation. Prioritise and schedule project activities and tasks to meet deadlines, commitments and deliver on the project's objectives. Provide culturally appropriate and responsive support and advice to project and program stakeholders (both internal and external) to assist in the development and implementation of whole-of-government policy and program initiatives. Undertake strategic analysis of issues and provide high level program management advice and direction in relation to initiatives for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in youth justice. Prepare a range of written materials such as cabinet submissions, executive correspondence, briefing material, speech notes and information papers concerned with the programs and initiatives for vulnerable young people including those that are at risk of, or are already involved in youth justice. Lead and proactively support staff by fostering a challenging, equitable, ethical and safe work environment which encourages commitment, skills development, professional growth and continuous improvement.
