**About the role**
Our Aboriginal Communities Water Services (ACWS) program was established in July 2023 to manage the transition from the Department of Communities to Water Corporation for providing safe and reliable water services to remote Aboriginal communities. The ACWS program is a critical component of our Thrive2035 goals, our Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow Strategy, and the transformation roadmap.
Join our dedicated team where you will provide a specialist electrical consultancy service in the areas of operation, maintenance and construction of electrical, instrumentation and SCADA type assets. You’ll be a self-starter working closely with our Regional Service Providers (RSP’s) reviewing and approving projects and scope of works in alignment with Water Corporations processes and procedures.
**Some key tasks to expect in this role**:
- Provide specialist technical advice and guidance on the analysis of faults, failures and sub-optimal performance of electrical assets including recommendation of cost-effective remedial actions
- Review design and tender documentation for new electrical installations and facilitate modifications to ensure operational effectiveness, maintainability and compliance with Corporation standards and guidelines
- Develop and facilitate comprehensive inspection and testing procedures and schedules
- Coordinate and direct contractors undertaking maintenance, modification or compliance work on electrical assets
**Here are some skills that we are looking for**:
- Electrical Worker’s Licence endorsed “Electrician’s Licence”
- Considerable experience in the operations and maintenance of water services infrastructure
- Considerable experience in electrical installation
- Considerable experience with electrical testing and commissioning
- Knowledge and experience in working in and with Aboriginal communities
