Commercial Analyst

**About the Role**:
Reporting to the Group Financial Controller the Commercial Analyst will provide high-quality analysis, insights and recommendations to support the business. This role involves close collaboration with BetMakers' commercial team to focus on driving revenue growth, profitability and market competitiveness. In addition to supporting commercial strategy, this role will also ensure accurate financial reporting, budgeting and forecasting to inform business decisions. The Commercial Analyst will act as a trusted partner across finance, sales and operations, bridging financial performance with commercial outcomes.

**Day-to-day**:

- **Commercial Analysis & Insights**:Monitor competitors, market trends, and customer data to identify risks and opportunities; review contracts for financial accuracy and compliance.
- **Accounting & Reporting**:Prepare monthly reports with variance analysis, support month-end close, and ensure accurate revenue recognition and commentary.
- **Profitability & Budgeting**:Maintain product, customer, and segment profitability analysis; assist in budgeting and forecasting with commercially sound assumptions.
- **Cost Management**:Track overheads and operating expenses, identifying cost-saving opportunities and efficiency gains.
- **Collaboration & Stakeholder Engagement**:Partner with commercial teams, finance, operations, and product to align strategies; and maintain strong customer relationships.
- **Financial Modelling & Forecasting**:Build scenario models for current revenue pricing, new products; analyse historicals to improve planning accuracy.
- **Performance Monitoring**:Track KPIs, highlight revenue/margin risks, and enhance reporting tools to deliver actionable insights.
- **Continuous Improvement**:Drive process enhancements, automation, and a data-driven culture across commercial and finance functions.

**To be successful in the role**:
To thrive in this role you’ll bring a strong mix of technical expertise, commercial acumen and collaboration skills. Ideally, you will have:

- A Bachelor of Commerce in Accounting or Finance, with CA/CPA qualification considered desirable
- 3 to 5 years of experience in a similar analyst or commercial planning role
- Experience using SAP or similar accounting software and advanced Microsoft Excel skills including functions, modelling and pivot tables
- Familiarity with business intelligence and reporting tools such as Power BI, Tableau
- The ability to interpret and work with large datasets to generate meaningful insights
- A proven track record of working in fast-paced environments and meeting deadlines
- Financial and commercial acumen with experience in management reporting, variance analysis and forecasting
- High attention to detail, with strong organisational skills and a process oriented approach
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- A collaborative approach to working within a team environment to achieve shared outcomes
- Flexibility to work outside regular business hours when required to support international and domestic team members and clients
