Salary per hour (exc. super): $143.43 - $177.94 per hour

**Role Description**

An excellent ICU leadership opportunity exists for a Clinical Unit Head of Intensive Care (ICU) to join a leading regional health service in Bendigo, Victoria. As the Clinical Unit Head, you will provide clinical and medical leadership for the ICU and will work closely with the Nurse Unit Manager of the ICU and other Clinical Unit Heads to provide leadership and management required to implement Bendigo Health’s strategic vision and meet clinical service delivery requirements. The role reports operationally to the Clinical Director of Ambulatory & Critical Care and professionally to the CMO.

**The Intensive Care Department**

Bendigo ICU is a 16-bed combined facility caring for more than 1000 intensive care, high dependency, and coronary care patients each year.

It is a Level 3 facility that is well-designed, spacious and offers all aspects of modern Intensive Care, including invasive and non-invasive ventilation, renal replacement therapy, plasmapheresis, intra-aortic balloon pump and echocardiography.

Bendigo ICU is the only type of facility like this in the region. Regular audits are conducted to ensure that high standards of care are consistently met. This data indicates that Bendigo ICU compares well with similar sized metropolitan units and fully meets the needs of the community in the Loddon Mallee region.

**Required skills and attributes**

Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine of Australia and New Zealand (FCICM) with significant clinical experience working at a senior level in a major ICU. Demonstrated ability to lead a comprehensive multidisciplinary ICU team, budgetary knowledge and understanding of funding implications. Proven ability to develop and maintain effective service interactions required in the operation of a busy ICU service. Post-graduate qualifications in areas such as health service management, re-design or clinical governance will be desirable however not essential.
