**Position Description**
This position is responsible for the development and deployment of BlueCross’s enterprise risk (including clinical) and legislative compliance function of the Clinical Governance, Risk and Innovation program of work. The scope

of work contributes to the assurance of high quality residential and homecare care and services, compliance with quality and regulatory standards and sustainable, stronger financial performance. With a focus on:

- Clinical and enterprise risk management and compliance as per the BlueCross Clinical Governance framework.
- Clinical and organisational wide risk management including clinical incident investigations outcomes, actions, evaluations, and thematic analysis. Partnering with the Head of Accreditation, Quality and Improvement and GM of Operations to ensure improvement measures are delivered and evaluated.
- Oversight of regulatory or statutory responses such as Coroners, State or Federal Department of Health and Aged Care Quality and Safety Commission (ACQSC).
- Oversight and leading the maintenance of a contemporaneous enterprise-wide risk register
- Plan on a Page - the position is accountable for the effective leadership and management of enterprise risk and legislative compliance and the deployment of initiatives that will increase organisational effectiveness and the provision of evidence based safe, high quality care
- Ensuring compliance of organisational governance documentation, policies and procedures
- Chair meetings and committees as delegated by the Executive GM CGRI
- Support the CGRI unit and organisation’s focus on customer experience and partner with our consumers in the delivery of safe and effective care
- Contributing to all aspects of clinical governance, risk and innovation in accordance with best practice and regulatory compliance while providing strategic support to the Executive General Manager Clinical Governance, Risk and Innovation (EGMCR&I)

**Qualifications / Experience / Skills Required / Personal Attributes**

**Qualifications**
- Tertiary qualified Health Practitioner, or related professional discipline
- Tertiary qualifications in Health Management or Risk
- Post graduate qualification in relevant field
- Project Management Certification (Desirable)

**Skills and Experience**
- Well-developed knowledge and understanding of the Aged Care Act and Aged Care Quality Standards
- Experience in and passion for aged care
- Proven ability to manage and lead change within a dynamic environment
- Demonstrated ability to be flexible; ability to work on a wide range of new projects; ability to successfully and simultaneously manage a number of key tasks including responding appropriately to urgent issues
- Demonstrated experience in the implementation of a risk management system with skills to introduce or adapt a comprehensive electronic system to manage incidents, complaints, compliments and continuous improvement plans
- Demonstrated experience in the management and assurance of company legislative compliance
- Demonstrated ability to identify and pursue, in collaboration with peers and colleague’s new ideas/opportunities for service improvement, efficiency and development
- Demonstrated ability to work independently, consultatively and meet reporting accountabilities.
- Senior Management experience with proven project and change management experience
- Understanding of quality and risk management systems including incident investigation, analysis and corrective actions
- Understanding of Human Resource systems including performance management, recruitment, industrial relations and OH&S
- Understanding in financial management
- Actively maintains professional skills and is up to date in current practices in aged and Person Centred Care applicable to the role
- Experience in leading and managing diverse teams including the professional development of staff
- Ability to anticipate future business needs and help the business to prepare for these
- Excellent communication and relationship building skills
- Ability to manage and resolve complex issues
- Provision of current Police Records check
- A current driver’s license
