**What you’ll do**:
As the Wine Operations Manager, you will develop and implement policy/procedures, and advise on winery technical and operational matters across the company. You will review quality, safety and suitability of cellar and maintenance operations, and plan for peaks in workload including the annual planning for the vintage period.
This role will also be responsible for the ongoing assessment of work practices identifying opportunities for improvement through the implementation of industry best practices, including but not limited to technology, equipment and process. To this end, identifying and managing capital investment falls within the remit of this role.
**Some Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to**:
- Develop and implement an annual winery management plan to ensure best practices in the fields of Vintage, winery additives & chemicals, site maintenance, cleaning management program and Safety
- Plan, coordinate and manage Dorrien Estate winery operations
- Ensure wine meets end-use quality specifications through industry best practice of winery process
- Ensure a safe working environment and conditions for all staff and contractors as per WH&S regulations and the Dorrien Estate Safety Policies and Procedures.
**Your background**:
To be successful in this role, you will be an excellent planner and organiser, be able to quickly establish meaningful networks both internally and externally, and operationally have a demonstrated commitment to continuous improvement. Ideally you will demonstrate considerable experience in the following key areas:
- People and operational management skills
- Minimum 10 years experience gained within a structured work environment where good process and competent management have demonstrated high-quality outcomes
- Ability to interpret analytical and financial data/reports
- Negotiation skills with both internal and external partners
- Ability to work in team environment
- Ability to design and maintain records in various formats
- Experience dealing with external suppliers and contractors
- Technical and practical approach to managing a winery and a deep interest in delivering process efficiencies
- A deep understanding of winery infrastructure and equipment and it’s maintenance
- Drivers Licence
