THE ROLE & THE TEAM
This role sits within a large, supportive team of 32 Security Officers based at the Parkville Youth Justice Centre, reporting to the Security Coordinator. In this position you will provide general security services including access control, screening, and perimeter security across the site. There is a corrections presence on site run by Corrections Victoria, so the role does not require you to undertake correctional duties or interact with young people in detention, however you may be required to enter secure areas of the facility. We are looking for professional, licenced security staff to join our team to undertake security duties for our client, such as:

- Providing friendly and efficient customer service for all people entering the centre.
- Conducting x-ray screening and searching using metal detection equipment.
- Roving security patrols both within and around the facility.
- Security concierge duties, including keeping detailed visitor logs and access control.
- Checking deliveries thoroughly in the sallyport area, to ensure no prohibited items or persons are entering the facility.
- Administering visitor covid-19 screening questionnaires and giving and checking visitor rapid antigen tests before they enter the facility.
- Internal escorting, including escorting contractors within the precinct, which could involve going into secure areas of the facility.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR
- Victorian Security Licence.
- Certificate II or III in Security Operations.
- First Aid and CPR qualifications, or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
- Working with Children check (Employee Version), or willingness to obtain prior to employment.
- 3 doses of the Covid-19 vaccine, or willingness to obtain the third dose prior to employment.

THE RECRUITMENT PROCESS
Shortlisted applicants will be invited to attend a 30-minute onsite interview. *Please note that you will need 3 x doses of the Covid-19 vaccine to attend onsite, otherwise we will do the interview online.
Upon passing, you'll receive an employment contract plus a final set of Onboarding Forms to complete.
