**About the Role**

Our Infusion Unit, the Thompson Unit, is looking for a full-time (Monday to Friday) ward clerk to join our team. You will play a key role within a supportive team to ensure our patients have a pleasant experience during their admission.

**As a Ward Clerk your responsibilities will include**:

- Greeting all customers with care and compassion, so that patients and families feel comfortable during their hospital stay.
- Work collaboratively with nursing staff and Nurse Unit Manager.
- Preparation of patient files
- Booking appointments in coordination with our doctors’ rooms using our electronic systems
- Medical record filing
- Providing clerical support to the clinical team
- Liaise with allied health, wards persons and other hospital departments when required to facilitate patient treatments or transfers

**Essential Criteria**:

- Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Well organised, able to priorities, plan, and work under pressure
- Competent computer skills including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel & Outlook)
- Ability to work autonomously in a self-directive environment.

**Desirable criteria**:

- Previous experience in a medical environment
- Experience with medical terminology
- Experience with WebPAS Medical System
- Experience in a ward environment
