**Position Summary**:
A vacancy exists within INTENSIVE CARE AT HOME for a highly motivated Staff Specialist with appropriate knowledge and skills to join our friendly and supportive team.
Our progressive and innovative team offers development opportunities for our staff and a caring environment for the delivery of high-quality patient centered care for long-term intensive care patients in the home.
The successful applicant(s) will be responsible for the medical cover for our growing client base in the community either via Telehealth or with in-person visits. Other responsibilities include to explore and develop new business opportunities.
**A particular interest in the following is essential**:
- Long-term ventilated adults and children with tracheostomies in the home
- Non
- invasive ventilation bipap/cpap at home
- Tracheostomy care
- Supporting 24/7 ICU/PICU nurses in the home
- 24-hour remote monitoring
- Home TPN
- CVC, PICC, Hickman's and Port management in the home
- IV fluids and iv antibiotics at home
- Psychosocial care
- Enteral feeding
- Palliative care for Intensive care patients
The successful applicant(s) will contribute to managing KPI’s, service standards, patient throughput, business growth, continuing education, research, as well as liaison with key stakeholders and other relevant professional bodies.
This position requires a Working with Children Check (WWCC), NDIS Worker Screen and Police Record check.
The vacancy is open to Australian citizens, New Zealand citizens who hold a valid New Zealand passport, Australian permanent residents and those non-residents deemed by the Department of Immigration and Citizenship to be eligible to work in Australia only.

**Selection Criteria**:
- Possess, or be eligible to possess, specialist registration with the Medical Board of Australia (MBA);
- Possess Fellowship of the College of Intensive Care Medicine (FCICM) or equivalent as provided for in the Staff Specialist's State award
- Demonstrated knowledge, skills, and high standards of clinical practice in Intensive Care Medicine commensurate to experience which is appropriate to the requirements of the position: possess experience at consultant level in the management of critically ill Patients.

- Demonstrated leadership skills that support and foster innovation to create a learning culture, with proven ability to improve the quality of services and patient care outcomes, including overseeing and interpreting intensive care databases and generating reports from these;
- Demonstrated ability to provide high quality compassionate medical care as evidenced by recent practice experience in working congenially and collaboratively as both a leader and member of a multidisciplinary team, and as a provider of services that engender high levels of patient satisfaction and experience;
