**Description**:
The Role
We are currently seeking experienced and safety-conscious Oxy Cutters to join our Victoria-based project teams. This full-time role is suited to individuals with a background in demolition, metalwork, or scrap processing who are confident working in high-risk environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform precise oxy cutting of steel and metal structures in accordance with engineering specifications
- Support the safe induced collapse of large structural elements during demolition works
- Set up work areas including barricading, signage, and pressurised gas equipment
- Inspect and maintain oxy cutting torches, regulators, hoses, and related equipment
- Adhere to site safety protocols and personal protective equipment (PPE) requirements
- Assist with material processing and segregation tasks when required
- Follow project schedules and daily work instructions issued by site supervisors

Qualifications and Skills
Mandatory Requirements
- Construction White Card - valid and current
- Demonstrated experience using oxy cutting tools in demolition, scrap, or heavy industrial environments
- Proven ability to operate safely around structural steel, gas equipment, and high-risk areas

Highly Regarded
- VOC or nationally recognised qualification in Oxy Cutting
- Strong working knowledge of Safe Work Method Statements (SWMS) and demolition risk controls
- Experience in scrap metal processing, material recovery, or heavy structural steel demolition
- Physically fit and capable of performing sustained, labour-intensive work in challenging conditions

Desirable Additions
- Truck licence (HR or above)
- VOCs or tickets to operate plant and equipment (e.g. excavator, skid steer, EWP)
- Asbestos Removal qualifications (Class A and/or Class B) or experience working in asbestos-contaminated environments
- Certifications in Working at Heights (WAH) and Confined Space Entry (CSE)
