**About the Role**

This role is responsible for the control and coordination of the warehouse and distribution activities within the region’s distribution centre to ensure that customer service levels are met in a safe and cost effective manner.
- ** Key Tasks**
Manage the region’s distribution centre to ensure product is stored in a secure manner and operational housekeeping is to an appropriate standard.
- Provide distribution services to customers within the region ensuring standards and processes are consistent with national goals and objectives.
- Ensure the distribution centre has appropriate equipment and support facilities to fulfil customer orders within nominated time and cost constraints.
- Maintain and report on expense and capital expenditure budget.
- Ensure activities in the distribution centre complement regional sales activity and initiate corrective action where required.
- Develop continuous improvement programs targeted at safety, waste reduction, product quality, on time delivery and prioritisation of customer orders.
- Participate in the Distribution Management Team to review operational issues and determine strategies for future requirements.
- Liaise with service providers (transport companies, suppliers, etc.) to ensure compliance.

**ESSENTIAL**

You will be a self-motivated person who enjoys working in a high-performance culture. To be considered applicants **MUST** have:

- Tertiary qualifications in logistics or an appropriate level of experience.
Experience in leading and developing staff.
- Experience in the building industry and an understanding of its market forces and economic drivers.
- Well-developed organisational skills and the ability to prioritise and manage resources to achieve outcomes.
- Proven experience in developing, monitoring, and maintaining operational budgets.
- Well-developed communication skills, including the ability to liaise and negotiate with clients, suppliers, and industry associations.
- ** DESIRABLE**
Understanding of Capral’s product range and customer base.
- Intermediate computer and SAP experience.
