**What You Will Be Working On**
As a Building/Health Compliance Officer, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks aimed at ensuring compliance with building and environmental health-related legislation. This includes investigating, reporting, and promptly responding to instances of non-compliance. You will be gathering and documenting sufficient and reliable information to address these issues effectively.
You will provide expert advice to both internal and external stakeholders regarding building and health compliance matters in the manner that is opened, honest, consistent, transparent and aligned with the City's expectations.
Enforcement of relevant Acts, Regulations, and Local Laws will be another important aspect of your role. This includes, but is not limited to, ensuring compliance with the City of Armadale Environment, Animals and Nuisance Local Laws 2002, Fencing Local Law 2011, Building Regulations 2012, and the Building Act 2011. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring strict adherence to the conditions of building approvals and the Building Code of Australia.
Your attention to detail, thoroughness in documentation, and expertise in compliance matters will contribute significantly to maintaining the highest standards of building and environmental health within the City of Armadale. By upholding these regulations and codes, you will play an essential role in ensuring the safety, integrity, and sustainability of our community.
**What Type Of Person Will Be Successful**
To succeed as a Building/Health Compliance Officer, you should possess the following qualifications and attributes:
- Demonstrated understanding of the building maintenance and construction environment.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a team.
- Demonstrated experience in providing a high level of customer service.
- Demonstrated experience in customer service request work flow and delivery of outcomes.
- Ability and confidence to deal and cope with conflict situations and resolution mediation to achieve a customer focused outcome.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and meet strict time constraints.
- Possession of Current C Class Drivers Licence.
- Possession of or ability to obtain a current National Police Certificate.
