About us
Turning Point is a national treatment, research and education centre that provides leadership in the alcohol and drug, gambling and mental health sectors in Victoria and beyond. Combining innovative research in the clinical, population health and policy fields, with service innovation, surveillance, system enhancements, capacity building and specialist support, Turning Point assists services, communities and the Victorian government to respond to current and emerging alcohol and drug and gambling issues.
Turning Point is part of Eastern Health, the largest public health provider in the eastern suburbs, providing a comprehensive range of high quality acute, sub-acute, palliative care, mental health, drug and alcohol, residential care and community health services. We are also strongly affiliated with Monash University and deliver a number of higher education qualifications in partnership with them.
About the role
The Manager, Hamilton Centre Turning Point is responsible for the leadership, management, development and coordination of activity and staff within the Hamilton Centre. The Hamilton Centre is a statewide specialist service for people living with mental illness and substance use or addiction. It was established in response to the recommendations of the Royal Commission into Victoria's Mental Health System, and encompasses a central hub (Turning Point) which links with Partner Providers across the state. The Hamilton Centre provides expert advice to support the mental health and alcohol and other drugs (AOD) workforce, as well as delivering better outcomes for Victorians seeking treatment for mental health concerns and substance addiction. The Hamilton Centre aims to provide outcomes such as improved access to specialist services, increased support for mental health professionals, and better evidence-based practice.
This role oversees contract management responsibility for service KPI’s, data and financial reporting and key stakeholder relationships. The role also oversees continuous service improvement and innovation activities, contributing and leading funding proposals and complex tender submissions (and associated reporting for successful projects to key stakeholders), managing the achievement of service delivery targets, program reporting, recruitment and retention of staff, roster allocation and budget oversight
About you
Relevant qualification/experience in a senior management role
Minimum of five years relevant industry experience in the management of AOD or mental health clinical and or education services
Demonstrated experience in stakeholder management and negotiation
Demonstrated capacity to write grants for project and program funding
Demonstrated ability in service development and planning
Financial management experience and demonstrated ability to develop plan and monitor budgets and report to governance committees and organisational executives
Demonstrated experience in the recruitment, management, professional development and retention of staff
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Demonstrated experience in project management
