**Manufacturing Operator**

Premier People are currently assisting our client, a manufacturing leader, with their requirement for a **MACHINE OPERATOR **in a Dye Shop, Full Time hours at Shift work.

***

This position is responsible for carrying out manufacturing functions in a safe manner within an extrusion facility, ensuring quality control measures are achieved.

**PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES**
- Work as part of a team to meet budgeted targets and KPI’s relevant to department
- Participate effectively in reviews of the work team planning, service delivery and work practices
- Operate equipment and perform tasks inline with site Work Instructions / Safe Operating Procedures
- Conduct regular housekeeping activities
- Ensure product quality and packaging standards are maintained and comply with delivery targets
- Participate in training to become a multi-skilled team member
- Adhere to good manufacturing processes by ensuring work station and general area is kept in a clean and tidy manner at all times
- Immediately report any faults with plant or equipment to manager
- Ensure all timesheets and training attendance records are completed accurately and submitted in a timely manner
- Communicate and endorse safety practices, monitor key safety performance indicators and visibly participate in promoting safety policies and initiatives
- Take full accountability for personal safety and well-being, develop an understanding of risk minimisation and be committed to achieving the highest possible standards for Safety, Health and the Environment (SH&E)
- Other key accountabilities appropriate to the banding of the position as determined by the manager of the role

**SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE**

**ESSENTIAL**
- Understanding of basic safety principles
- Ability to work autonomously and maintain a high level of activity across all shifts
- Demonstrated experience in working in a team environment
- Basic understanding of quality principles

**DESIRABLE**
- Previous experience in a manufacturing environment
- Experience with automated machinery
- Ability to identify problems and resolve or contribute to resolution thereof
- Forklift licence
- Experience and knowledge of material handling
- Basic computer literacy skills

**Salary**: $27.00 - $31.00 per hour
