The Benevolent Society’s Child & Family Services aim to strengthen families so children can live at home safely, free from abuse and neglect, and enjoy the best possible start to life. We deliver voluntary services to families at high risk of entering or escalating within the statutory child protection system.

**About the role**

As Team Leader (Family Partnerships) of our Fostering Young Lives (FYL) program you will be focused on ensuring your team are positioned to provide exceptional services to children and families so they can feel safe and secure.

Reporting to the Deputy Manager Family Partnerships, and managing a team of 6-7 direct reports, you will have proven experience within Child Protection and/or Out of Home Care and will be familiar with Step by Step training and assessment tools.

**Duties**
- Provide clear focused leadership and professional supervision.
- Support, guide and lead the team to complete restoration assessments and associated court work
- Support, guide and lead the team to complete Provisional, Kinship and General Foster Care assessments, as well as Guardianship assessments where this is identified as the case plan goal.
- Developing and supporting the team to facilitate Carer Training, Development and Support
- Overseeing the organisations recruitment campaigns for foster carers and attending community-based events
- Supporting the team to provide carer supervision and support to carers who provide respite and emergency care.

**Skills and Experience**
- Degree qualified in area relating to service delivery
- Demonstrated experience leading a dynamic team within the Permanency Support space/OOHC.
- Previous operational experience in the area related to the service, including case management experience.
- Have experience in assessments model of foster carer such as the Step by Step or other risk based models
- Excellent understanding of the service’s operating environment and the systems within DCJ (Department of Communities and Justice)
- Demonstrated understanding of vulnerability and risk indicators relating to the client group of the service
