**About the OPPORTUNITY**

We have a new opportunity for a Trade Trainer to join our Maritime Australia business on the Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP). Reporting to the Mechanical Trade Manager, you will be employed on a permanent full time basis, based at Osborne, Adelaide.

We embrace flexible work arrangements at BAE Systems Australia, including working a 9-day fortnight.

BAE Systems Maritime Australia (formerly known as ASC Shipbuilding), has been contracted to design and deliver the world’s most advanced anti-submarine warfare frigates to the Royal Australian Navy. The Hunter Class Frigate Program (HCFP) will create and sustain more than 5,000 jobs across BAE Systems and the wider Australian Defence supply chain over the life of the program.

**Key responsibilities include**:

- Contribute to the trade training activities, support developing a qualified and experienced trades workforce, meeting current and future program objectives
- Develop and deliver trade training and workplace inductions, using contemporary learning and assessment strategies, while adapting to different learning styles
- Guide, develop and mentor the trades workforce in best practice within a shipbuilding environment
- Collaborate effectively to develop and maintain good relationships with internal stakeholders, external stakeholders and industry partners to maintain a positive culture
- Develop the training and assessment materials related to the task activities
- Perform technical training analysis, design, development and implementation activities
- Assess and monitor learner progress and performance in line with business requirements and trade frameworks/standards
- Provide information and advice on trade training and assessment services
- Provide reporting on the evaluation of learner performance, and provide ongoing validation of training programs
- Maintain a high level of confidentiality to safeguard and protect sensitive information

**About YOU**
- Extensive Defence Maritime Shipbuilding technical trade/production experience
- NACE 2 Qualification or equivalent
- Knowledge and experience with various steel surface preparation methods
- Good computer skills and experience using the Microsoft Office Suite
- Good communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage and support technical workforce learners and collaborate with a broad range of stakeholders
- Self-starter, a continuous improvement mindset, and a solutions focused approach
- Whilst not essential, Training/instructor experience with Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or equivalent), will be highly regarded
