The Projects, Information and Business Intelligence Unit (PIBI) provides records services, oversees the provision of e-library services, manages information policy and strategy, provides procurement and contract administration services and supplies IT project and program management expertise to the Treasury.
As Assistant Director of the Information Services Team you will:
- Manage of the operation of a small records and information resources team that delivers high quality services aligned with the Treasury’s corporate plan, Enterprise Information Strategy and Information Governance Framework.
- Promote and monitor organisational compliance with Commonwealth legislative and regulatory information management requirements and initiating timely and targeted risk mitigation activities when necessary.
- Develop and implement compliant records management solutions as part of an information governance framework through proactive systematic analysis and design of organisational systems and business processes.
- Develop and maintain a cost-effective and efficient archival and disposal program and records preservation strategy.
- Provide expert advice to Treasury’s internal clients on policies and guidelines for the management of documents and records.
- Monitor and update, when necessary, policies, guidelines and procedures to support compliant information management in the Treasury.
- Manage, administer, review and negotiate contracts with service providers.
In addition to the above, you will:
- Build and maintain strong relationships with senior executive, clients, service providers, other government agencies and professional bodies.
- Represent Information Services Branch and or the Treasury at various meetings and forums.
- Lead and or assist the work of the unit with other duties as directed.
- Actively participate in the Department’s performance management system while ensuring opportunities for professional and personal development is available to staff.
Desirable Qualifications/Experience:
- Qualifications or extensive experience in information or records management would be highly valued.
- Knowledge of legislative and policy requirements for information and records management within Commonwealth Government, or the ability to quickly acquire that knowledge is also required.
