Some of your core responsibilities will include but aren’t limited to
- Leading financial crime initiatives to strengthen Challenger’s AML/CTF program, staying ahead of modernisation legislation, and delivering assurance reviews.
- Assessing the potential threat of ML/TF and fraud occurring and ensuring appropriate Programs, Policies and processes are designed, implemented, and monitored in respect of the performance of Challenger’s business activities.
- Providing guidance to the business on financial crime risks related to AML/CTF, sanctions, and fraud while supporting key transactions and projects.
- Designing and executing assurance plans, monitoring key risk areas, and embedding robust controls across the business.
- Managing business escalations regarding client on-boarding, transaction monitoring, watch list screening and potential suspicious matters.
- Representing Challenger in industry forums (depending on experience) and staying updated on trends and legislative changes to ensure our framework remains cutting-edge.
- Ongoing design and delivery of the Financial Crime Risk Awareness Training Program
- Designing test plans and conducting assurance reviews over AML/CTF Program activities, including the Customer Identification Program, Customer Risk Rating Model, Enhanced Customer Due Diligence, Transaction Monitoring, Watch List Screening and Employee Due Diligence Programs
- Supporting transformation projects and driving system development and operational oversight

The skills and experience you’ll need.

You’ll be an experienced financial crime risk professional with at least 5+ years’ experience in financial crime risk AML/CTF compliance or similar advisory type roles ideally from within financial services, as well as;
- Knowledge of financial crime risk frameworks, including sanctions, fraud, bribery/corruption and privacy.
- Experience in financial crime control design and testing
- Demonstrated ability to design and execute assurance programs.
- Exposure to business projects, regulatory change and transaction monitoring systems is a bonus.
- Financial crime systems savvy with a desire to operate as a system SME.

Qualifications:

- Tertiary qualifications in a relevant field (essential).
